Meet a local artist bringing color, character, and a whole lot of joy to the Hutto community through custom cartoon-style commissions. From playful pet portraits to vibrant original characters, this creative entrepreneur has been turning smiles into art for the past four years, right here in her hometown of over eight years.

Tell us a little about your business. What do you offer, and what makes it unique?

I offer pet and character commissions in a cartoon and characterized style. I believe my work is unique because I don't see many artists create animation inspired work and it brings a whimsical and fun vibrancy that will make anyone smile.

How did your journey as a business owner begin? What inspired you to get started?

I started doing commission work about 4 years ago after honing my skills for over 10 years. I began working with clients to bring their pets and characters to life and absolutely fell in love with the idea that I was bringing a smile to their faces. I was and still am, inspired by the beautiful art and cartoons of the animation industry, so I've captured a vibrant cartoon style in my work.

How long have you been in business, and why did you choose Hutto as your home base?

I've been in business for about 4 years now and Hutto is my home base because it has been my home for over 8 years. I love the community and growth of this city and the opportunities for small business to thrive.

What’s been one of your most memorable moments as a business owner?

I remember I created a piece for a coworker for his beloved pet that just passed. Not only did it make him tear up but it made him so happy to see and think of her again. It is something I love to do for people, not only bring joy but help them remember the fun of life.

What do you think makes the Hutto community special?

The comradery of the community and opportunities for small business to thrive and grow that I haven't seen in other places that I've lived. Every place has their issues and hardships, but so many times I've seen people come together to help each other like a small town does even through the rapid and exciting growth Hutto is bringing.

What advice would you give to someone just starting a business here?

It is hard, I won't lie. But go for it. Just start. Don't be afraid of failure because you will fail multiple times. I know I have. This is not meant to be discouraging. It's to allow you the freedom of not worrying about perfection as I know I have many times. Don't be hard on yourself if it doesn't work out immediately. Networking is your best friend and it's not impossible, especially in a community like the one we have here.

When you're not working, where can we find you around town? (Favorite coffee, food, or hangout spots?)

I love walking the trails in our parks and my favorite place are the ponds in the co op! It's beautiful so far and will only get better. I love Jack Allen's and am so excited it came to Hutto!

Anything exciting coming up you'd like the community to know about?

I don't have anything planned at the moment but I am always looking for more opportunities to be a part of the small business community such as meeting people at pop up shops. I am also about to open a shop on my website so I am excited about that!
