Bringing Compassionate Mental Health Support to Hutto and Beyond
In a world where mental health needs are growing every day, Better Health Counseling stands out as a local leader in compassionate, inclusive, and affordable care. Founded in December 2022 but rooted in the Hutto community for years, this group private practice has rapidly expanded to serve clients across Hutto, Round Rock, and Georgetown, with a team of 26 licensed therapists ready to help individuals, couples, and families thrive.

Tell us a little about your business. What do you offer, and what makes it unique?
We are a group private practice for mental health counseling. We work with children ages 3+, teens, adults, couples and families. We provide a variety of services and work with a wide variety of populations. We accept most insurances (BCBS, United, Optum, Oscar, Aetna, Cigna and Curative) and private pay.
How did your journey as a business owner begin? What inspired you to get started?
I have been part of the Hutto community since 2017 when I took a position as a school counselor at Hutto High School. I started as a solo private practice in downtown Hutto while working as a school counselor in 2020. I found the mental health needs grew so rapidly during COVID that I became very busy with my part time practice. In 2021 I decided to leave school counseling after over 16 years of service and work solely for my private practice. As time went on I had friends and other staff join my practice. We are now a practice with three locations (Hutto, Round Rock and Georgetown) and 26 therapists.
How long have you been in business, and why did you choose Hutto as your home base?
Better Health Counseling was founded in December 2022, though I was in private prior to this time we had not established our LLC until December 2022.. We chose Hutto as I was part of the community through my role as a school counselor. I saw a great need for mental health services in our community.
What’s been one of your most memorable moments as a business owner?
Most memorable moment was when I opened my first office at 101 Taylor Street with Dr. Holland and his wife. They were so helpful in helping me get my start to my private practice.
What do you think makes the Hutto community special?
I love the community feeling and how everyone supports each other.
What advice would you give to someone just starting a business here?
I would recommend that anyone starting a business first get to know your community and existing resources.
When you're not working, where can we find you around town? (Favorite coffee, food, or hangout spots?)
Baked n Sconed and Happy Panini are my favorite lunch places to visit with my team.
Anything exciting coming up you'd like the community to know about?
We will be offering some groups this summer to support grief/loss, divorce, and parenting. Groups will run 6-8 weeks and will be $5 per week. We will also be providing discounted counseling sessions for individuals, couples and families who qualify. Individual sessions $30 and couples/family sessions $50.
Sessions will be held in Hutto, Round Rock and Georgetown.
Space is limited so contact us ASAP.
