If you’re looking for one-of-a-kind Hutto spirit wear, creative designs, and a hands-on shopping experience, you’ll want to stop by this charming local gem. Known for her personalized T-shirts, custom apparel, and signature Hutto Hippo Swag, Kim Whitman has built more than just a boutique, she’s created a crafty, creative space where customers can truly make it their own.
“My shop is part workspace, part retail, and all heart,” Kim shares. “I like to call it a crafty boutique, a place where people can pick their apparel and personalize it right here in-store. It’s not just shopping, it’s an experience!”

Tell us a little about your business. What do you offer, and what makes it unique?
My shop is what I call a crafty boutique. It is my workspace as well as a retail shop. Although I have made many things over the years, I am mostly known for T-shirts and Spirit wear. Your place for Hutto Hippo Swag! I offer more of an experience to make things your own by putting designs on apparel of your choice while you are in store!
How did your journey as a business owner begin? What inspired you to get started?
I started by making things for my friends and family. Next, I moved to selling items so that I could fund my hobby! The more demand I saw from the community, my hobby became a business.
How long have you been in business, and why did you choose Hutto as your home base?
My hobby began at home about 6 years ago while a stay-at-home mom. Later, I started selling at markets and online. I was able to open my brick-and-mortar just under a year and a half ago! Hutto is my family's home and has been for 20 years. I have so much hometown pride :)
What’s been one of your most memorable moments as a business owner?
The love and support from my customers through the years, but especially when I was able to open my shop!
What do you think makes the Hutto community special?
The Hippo pride! The mascot is part of our city as a whole and is unique. That spirit is like no other!
What advice would you give to someone just starting a business here?
Business doesn't come without challenges. Keep working towards each goal. Be real, Transparency goes a long way with your clientele :)
When you're not working, where can we find you around town? (Favorite coffee, food, or hangout spots?)
No matter where, I am likely to be with my family :)
Anything exciting coming up you'd like the community to know about?
Keep watching! I'm always working on new stuff! Looking forward to new designs next football season and branching out!
