Tucked away in a space that feels more like Hill Country than city life, this family-friendly microbrewery offers more than just local craft beer and wine, it offers a place to kick back, relax, and let the kids burn off some energy on the bounce house and playscape. From their sprawling patio, guests can even catch views of the Brushy Creek Amphitheater. It's a little slice of Texas heaven right here in Hutto, Rockabilly Brewing.

💬 "We wanted a place where adults could unwind and families could come together, and that’s exactly what we’ve built."

At the brewery, guests can enjoy a growing selection of house-made beers as well as some of the best local craft options. Plus, the laid-back, natural setting makes it feel like a weekend getaway without ever leaving town.

Tell us a little about your business. What do you offer, and what makes it unique?

We're a family-friendly microbrewery that offers local wine and craft-beer, plus our own beers, that guests can come and enjoy in a laid-back and fun atmosphere. Our location is unique because when you come on the property, it feels like you're in the hill country, surrounded by nature, and we have a bounce house and playscape for the kids! You can also see the Brushy Creek Amphitheater from our patio!

How did your journey as a business owner begin? What inspired you to get started?

Long story short, in 2014, we (Brandi and Jimmy) got a homebrew kit (that's how we all start, right?) as an engagement gift and realized how much we enjoyed brewing. We've always loved craft beer so it was really cool to be able to make our own. We experimented with various flavors and types of beer and always got great feedback, so of course that meant we should start a brewery, right?

We found Eli and Sonya Alborn about a year and a half after we began our process and they have been an incredible addition to our journey as partners. From what started as a container bar and some picnic tables, to a revamped space with an awesome patio bar and indoor seating, we've come a long way since 2022. We're still expanding the space, as well as growing our own beer selection, so there's still a lot to look forward to!

How long have you been in business, and why did you choose Hutto as your home base?

We've been operating since 2022, but we shut down for a few months for renovations. We just celebrated our one year anniversary of our reopening. We chose Hutto because we fell in love with the space. We searched high and low for locations that really spoke to us, and when we found this spot, we could just see exactly how we wanted it. How we wanted it to grow, and how we could have a positive impact in our community. While we live in Round Rock and Pflugerville, our (Brandi and Jimmy) kids go to Hutto schools, so we very much consider ourselves Hippos.

What’s been one of your most memorable moments as a business owner?

I don't know if I could pick just one! Getting our Tangerine King on tap with the help of Texas Beer Co. was amazing because it gave us the opportunity to put something of our own out there, and it's been so well received. Adding Eli and Sonya to the partnership because they've helped us to grow so much in such a short amount of time, and having BBQ Fiends come on the property because they're just amazing people and their food is so special. Celebrating a year was something that we weren't sure we'd have the luxury of doing for a while there, when we first opened.

What do you think makes the Hutto community special?

We believe the Hutto community is truly special because of its unique blend of small-town warmth, vibrant growth and strong community spirit. Here, local businesses thrive on support and connection, and there’s a shared pride in preserving the charm and character that make Hutto what it is. The sense of belonging here is something you can feel from every local you meet, and it’s what makes Hutto a place like no other.

What advice would you give to someone just starting a business here?

The first piece of advice I would give anyone anywhere is to do your research! Make sure you understand the local laws and codes, the local demographic, state laws (really any law that might affect your business) and what opportunities some places offer, like business grants, etc. Apply for any and every grant that you're allowed to. And make sure you're doing good for your neighbors and community, not just yourself.

When you're not working, where can we find you around town? (Favorite coffee, food, or hangout spots?)

We really enjoy having our meetings at Lamppost Coffee, and we're super excited for the opening of Jack Allen's! Love that place. The Happy Panini is another place we all enjoy eating.

Anything exciting coming up you'd like the community to know about?

We are working on having some more of our own recipes on tap over the next few months. We finally got our own brew system so we're working on getting everything set up and ready for brewing, and we've also got some fun events coming up! We're hosting a Mother's Day Brunch on May 11, another Emo Night with Taking Back Funday on June 13 (yes, Friday the 13th! Expect tattoos again as well!)
