Tell us a little about your business. What do you offer, and what makes it unique?

Thig’s Diamond Haircuts is a full service, professional barbershop offering premium haircuts, beard grooming, and a welcoming environment for men, women, and families. What makes us unique is our commitment to excellence, consistency, and community. We focus not only on top notch grooming, but also on creating a space and culture where people feel respected, heard, and valued. For us, barbering is both a craft and a calling.

How did your journey as a business owner begin? What inspired you to get started?

My journey began long before opening the shop. I started cutting hair at a young age and eventually pursued barbering professionally. The inspiration to open my own business came from a desire for ownership, freedom, and the ability to positively impact others, especially young people. I wanted to build something that represented integrity, faith, hard work, and opportunity.

How long have you been in business, and why did you choose Hutto as your home base?

We opened Thig’s Diamond Haircuts in 2016, so we’re approaching 10 years in business. I chose Hutto because it felt like home, family-oriented, the growth potential. At the time, downtown Hutto was a place where I felt called to plant my roots and serve the community. Since then we have moved around the a bigger building because of our growth. It’s been an honor to grow alongside the city.

What’s been one of your most memorable moments as a business owner?

One of the most memorable moments has been realizing the impact the shop has had beyond haircuts. Cutting young men who now have families, seeing young barbers grow, families returning to support on a consistent basis and the community truly embracing what we’ve built.  Knowing that the shop has become a safe, positive space for people means everything to me.

What do you think makes the Hutto community special?

Hutto has a genuine sense of togetherness. People support local businesses, look out for one another, and take pride in where they live. There’s a strong balance of small-town values and forward growth, which makes it a special place to build a business and raise a family.

What advice would you give to someone just starting a business here?

Be patient, be consistent, and get involved in the community. Build real relationships, not just transactions. Stay humble, stay teachable, and don’t be afraid to ask for help. If you serve the community well, the community will support you.

When you're not working, where can we find you around town?

When I’m not in the shop, you’ll usually find me spending time with my daughters, reading, writing, producing music, selling real estate, (Yes I'm a realtor and I love helping families find forever homes, and businesses find good locations to open businesses!) I'm always supporting local events, or grabbing food around town as well. I enjoy supporting other local businesses and staying connected to what’s happening in the community.

Anything exciting coming up you'd like the community to know about?

Oh yes! 2026 marks our 10-year anniversary, which is a huge milestone for us. We’re planning special celebrations, community focused events, and some exciting expansions. We’re grateful for the continued support and look forward to many more years serving Hutto, surrounding areas and beyond!
