Appetizer Recipes

Deviled Eggs

Sydney Johnson

Prep time: 20 min | Cook time:10 min | Ready in: 30 min 

Ingredients:

  • 1 Dozen Eggs

  • 3 Tbsp Light Mayo

  • 1 Tsp Mustard

  • Black Pepper

 

Instructions:

  1. Boil eggs.

  2. Remove from heat.

  3. Cool.

  4. Peel the shells off.

  5. Rinse eggs under cool water.

  6. Cut in half long ways.

  7. Spoon out the yolk and place in bowl.

  8. Mix mayo and mustard in with yolk until somewhat smooth.

  9. Spoon into empty egg halves.

  10. Sprinkle with pepper.

  11. Chill in the fridge for at least half an hour, covered so they don't dry out.

Holiday Party Mix

Prep time: 10 min | Cook time: 45 min | Ready in: 55 min | Yields: One large bowl of party mix

Ingredients:

  • 9 Cups Toasted Corn Cereal Squares

  • 4 Cups Popped Popcorn

  • 1 1/2 Cups Dry Roasted Peanuts

  • 1 Cup Chocolate Chips

  • 1 Bag Pretzels

 

Instructions:

  1. Combine 1 cup packed brown sugar, 1 stick (1/2 c) margarine, ½ cup light corn syrup in pan

  2. Stir constantly.

  3. Boil over medium heat for 5 minutes without stirring then remove from heat.

  4. Stir in 1 Tsp. Vanilla and ½ Tsp. Baking Soda

  5. Pour over cereal mixture while coating evenly onto the cookie sheet.

  6. Bake 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.

  7. Let Cool and break apart before putting in a large bowl.

  8. Stir in chocolate chips and 1 Package of pretzels.

Oven-Baked Nachos

Prep time: 5 min | Cook time: 3 min | Ready in: 8 min | Yields: A bag of chips

Ingredients:

  • 1 Bag Tortilla Chips

  • 1 Can Refried Beans

  • 1 Block Cheddar Cheese, Shredded

  • 1 Jar Picante Sauce

  • 1 Small Tub Sour Cream

Instructions:

  1. Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees.

  2. Line a pan with foil.

  3. Drop of spoonful of beans to each round chip and lightly press flat, careful not to break the chip.

  4. Line the chips on the foil covered pan. (You can also make homemade flour tortillas)

  5. Drop one spoonful of Picante Sauce on each chip.

  6. Then sprinkle cheese on each chip.

  7. Bake in oven for 2-3 minutes and remove from oven.

  8. Spoon sour cream on each chip and serve while hot.

Seven Layer Dip

Prep time: 5 min | Ready in: 5 min

Ingredients:

  • 1 Can Refried Beans

  • 1 Package Taco Seasoning

  • 1 Package Cream Cheese

  • 1 Can Green Chilies

  • 1 Cup Salsa

  • 2 Cups Shredded Lettuce

  • 2 Cups Shredded Cheese

  • 1 Can (1/2 Cup) Ripe Olives, Sliced and Drained

  • 1 Medium Tomato, Diced (3/4 Cup)

  • Bag Tortilla Chips

 

Instructions:

  1. In medium bowl, stir together refried beans and taco seasoning.

  2. Spread mix on large platter.

  3. In a second medium bowl, stir together cream cheese and chilies.

  4. Spread over bean mixture.

  5. Top with salsa, lettuce, cheese, olives and tomatoes.

  6. Refrigerate until serving time.
